Water efficient appliances

Accounting for about 55 – 60 per cent of our household water demand makes this a good place to start. Water consuming appliances have a star rating scheme that applies including washing machines, toilets and dishwashers. The scheme also covers the water efficiency of taps and showers. The more stars, the greater the appliance’s credentials for conserving water.

Choosing highly rated appliances over lowly rated appliances makes a significant difference – often a 50 per cent saving – that contributes to your impact on the environment and the size of your water bill!

The Water Rating scheme is a government sponsored system that allows easy comparison of the water consumption efficiency of key appliances – including the ability to search for appliances across different suppliers.
